- This motel is EXACTLY what you're hoping for when funds are tight. Your room is not going to be outfitted with luxury furnishings, but it is spacious enough, spotlessly clean, and conscientiously maintained. Tony at the front desk (management) is refreshingly professional. There is area information galore in your room. Food cooked on the premises is available to be ordered for your room, if you need it. The location is a few minutes' awesome creekside walk from downtown, and quiet (at least when I was there).

- Wife and I spent a weekend in New Plymouth and stayed here on the Saturday night as our usual accommodation was booked out.. The NP Tourist Information Centre was able to arrange this motel for us .
The Carrington is an older style two story building . The grounds are neat and tidy with plenty of parking . Our twin unit was very clean and tidy. Shower and toilet cubicles are small but ok . There were two beds, a double and single, both of which were very comfortable.
Cost of our room was NZ$89. We were quite happy with the room and would rate the motel as a 3 star. - “Clean and
