The Taranaki Festival of Lights is set in the superb Pukekura Park, Access Main Entrance Fillis St, New Plymouth, Taranaki. The festival kicks off in December to coincide with the Christmas at the Bowl concert. The festival runs through to early February with two stages of entertainment on in the park every night the walking route for the lights varies each year and this has added real value for the repeat visitor at this stage its still free and New Plymouth as whole embraces the light festival .
Come and see the spectacular light installations enhance the natural features of Pukekura Park. This year the main focus of the lights is through the main lake and the children's play area. Take a row on the glowing lake or grab a hot cappuccino to finish off a memorable evening.
Daytime Delights
There is always plenty of fun and free activities to keep both kids and adults busy over the holiday period. The Day time Delights programme provides specific information about loads of fun things to do. To order a programme, or to view it on line, please contact the council via the link below.
Highlights
Free entertainment, music and activities are on in the park most nights during the festival. The Tonight's Highlights programme operates from 8.30pm to 10.45pm. To request a programme or view it online, please see below.
Cancellations
Please remember, in bad weather the Daytime Delights and Tonight's Highlights events may be cancelled for safety reasons. Energy FM 93.2 will broadcast cancellations, or, you can call the council on (06) 759 6060.
